Her life prior to becoming a Doctor was far from being a happy one. Her father was very stern and not pleased when she chose her major in college so much that she worked to pay for her education even though he was also a Doctor in another field, and rich. She had fallen in love when was sixteen but they became separated and did not meet again for 14years, even then she didn't recognize him. Her old love had become a recognized and outstanding football player, but l' m giving out too much of the story. This is a must read, otherwise it will your LOSS! Good reading.Product details

Changing Lanes The Lone Stars Book 3 edition by Katie Graykowski Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Laney and Devon met at summer camp when they were teenagers. They told each other they loved each other. Larry's dad came two days early and took her home. Devon has been looking for her for 13 years. One day he sees her but she doesn't recognize him. He decides to not tell her but court her so she will remember him. This is a wonderful story that makes you smile, laugh, and cry. Love, friends, and family are all new for Laney. Will her dreams come though?. Katie Graykowski is a great writer. Can't wait to read another one of her books.
OK third book in this series and I love the romantic comedy that Katie writes. Seriously some funny stuff happening to the main characters- Laney and Devin. This is a second chances story of Laney and Devin who met when they were 17 during a 2 week summer camp. Her dad showed up early and that was the end of their romance. Both Laney and Devin held onto that love thinking they had met their soul mate at young age in short amount of time. Fourteen years later a chance meeting between Laney the pediatric oncologist and Devin the football player, he recognizes her right away but she just feels like she knows him. There is a sweet romance, and love all the secondary characters- his football teams, and coach, his mama Sweet Louise and her friends they make great dynamic. Now Laney being a child cancer doctor you know you will not get away unscathed by a sweet 5 yr old Lara who touches everyone's hearts in this book. Truly beautiful story full of emotion and I cried my eyes out.
This was a great book. Devon meets a doctor named Laney. He immediately realizes that she is the girl he fell in love with 14 years ago at camp. She doesn't recognize him though. She starts dating him but still doesn't realize who he is. He doesn't want to tell her because he wants her to figure it out on her own. She fell in love with him at camp too. She left her phone number and address in his book that he carried around with him at camp. She couldn't understand why he never got in touch. This book is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone.
I have read 3 of these so far and my favorite by far was number 2. I didn't like this one as much and 2 days later am still not sure why. Spoiler. I have to admit I was hoping for a happy ending for the little girl but even though I didn't get it, it was handled very well. I didn't understand how she could not have recognized him if he were still a football sized person when she fell in love with him why didn't she recognize his eyes. I would have and in fact have recognized someone from far back, albeit not some one I fancied myself in love with but still. I am still glad that I read it but believe I will skip number 4 as it involves Debra, a character that was not likable at all in book number 2.
I really enjoyed Katie Graykowski's Lone Stars series and I think Changing Lanes was my favorite! I love that in each of these books, she combines a love story, NFL players and Texas to make a really fun story. I love football and I was immediately drawn to these books when I read the storylines. In Changing Lanes, Laney and Devon met each other a long time ago at summer camp but lost touch. Years later, they reunite and it's amazing to see how their relationship plays out. This book tugged at my emotions so much. It was sweet, sad, happy, and frustrating all in one book. Many of the characters who appear in the other books also show up in this book. I really enjoyed this book and was sad to see it end. I recommend this series to anyone who enjoys sweet love stories and football!
I am so loving reading this Lone Star series. The books are all well written with a different couple in each book. This one dealt with the love between Devon and Laney, a couple that met as teens, fell in love, and then didn't see each other for years. They realized that the love had never gone away. The story also involved the patient, Lara, and everything that occurs during the final stages of Leukemia. The story was romantic, sad, happy, and devastating all in one book. So many tears shed but love won out. There was a beautiful HEA and I will continue to read the rest of this series that was written so well by Katie Graykowski.
This was another wonderful book by this amazingly creative author. This one was slightly different in tone compared to the previous two books. There were very funny moments which is a real strength for Ms. Graykowski. That said the story this time had moments that were extremely moving and serious. Perhaps it is a matter of my being extremely sensitive to the topic but even those moments were given such a deft hand. Yet another strength of this lovely series are all the secondary characters. They have create this solid albeit quirky family and seem like real folks. I want to see what happens next and I only have two left to read. Katie is going to need to get busy as she gave these characters life and presence that deserves to have additional books written. I have a running list and I can add an additional one to the mix with Laney's father. What happened with him? Inquiring minds want to know. I also want to thank Katie for making this book available in paperback. Clearly she respects all of her readers. Now I need to get busy as I have two more books to enjoy. YES! Thank you very much Katie for the wonderful time I had reading this book. denise bailey
